Acme Choppers in New Hampshire, established in 2005 is a family business which specializes in high quality custom chopper parts, custom frames, forks and accessories. Their custom bikes are described as a blend of new and old school chopper style and technology.
Today’s feature is Acme Choppers Triumph T120R aka Raw Metal Triumph, assembled in 5 days back in 2010 for a biker build off at Laconia bike week.
The frame is around a 1968 or so Triumph with a one-off hard tail. The heart of Raw Metal is from a 1970 Triumph T120R ; the head was modified with a threaded insert to fit the V-band clamps to hold the exhaust on. The exhaust itself is a slipfit stainless two into one finished with a shortened supertrapp.
At the front Raw Metal features a Sportster front end, which was shortened by 3-inch and the mounts were shaved off. To hold it all together a few aluminum ACME trees were added and a vintage Aris headlight was mounted. Raw Metal also features 2″ aluminum ACME risers and stainless Hot Rod Bars along with ACME BMX grips, came off shelf and were bolted on. To control the hydraulic clutch a Brembo master cylinder were installed.
The Villain tank was narrowed and shortened and topped with a Mooneyes gas cap. One of Acme Choppers tried and true favorites is the 7Metal West aluminum ribbed fender, 1/8-inch thick and just the right radius, which fits perfect into their vision. The rear fender topped with a sweet After Hours Choppers taillight.
The Triumph T120R Raw Metal rolls on 18-inch rear and 19-inch front wheels wrapped in good old vintage style Firestone tires. The level of craftsmanship on the bike is astonishing with most of the parts were hand fabricated. Acme Choppers have plenty of bikes in their portfolio, check out their website and facebook page.
