BMW Boxer R80RT

A heavyweight Italian custom BMW Boxer R80RT is ready to rock the arena of the custom scene. This Italian Boxer has been trained by 4 masters of Emporio Elaborazioni Meccaniche Rome, Italy.

According to Dopz “ The name “Carnera” comes from Primo Carnera, an Italian boxing world champion. Just like Carnera our custom BMW Boxer R80RT is big, elegant and has a boxer engine. A customer from Tuscany commissioned this custom project and he asked for a bad ass elegant vintage enduro. So we decided to work on the classic design of a scrambler but with a lot of details to make it different.

The base for the build was the tourism model of BMW Boxer R80RT. The build started from the rear frame which we chopped, shortened, curved and shrunk to give the rear tire more visibility. We closed the air filter with a metal cup to improve the engine design and we put the key lock on it.

tourism model of BMW Boxer R80RTThe stock BMW R80RT tank is quite big and we didn’t like the trend of a “boxy” big tank on a slim seat. So we decided to chop and curve the tank to make it more minimal and follow the lines we designed. We also added a couple of nozzles and a transparent fuel pipe to make a visible fuel level on the tank. To coordinate the fuel pipes with the tank level we put in transparent tubes.

We took a couple of Ducati GT sides and modified it to add some vintage touches to this build. After completing the tank and the sides our search for special details on this BMW Boxer R80RT continued. Other details comes from leather artisan, the foot rests, the hand-grips, the top of the headlight and the leather insert on the forks.”

The headlight is a Lucas, which we have modified to insert the Voltmeter and 4 LEDs. The big headlight switch has been used as an engine on-off switch, a classic touch, no need to panic the headlight switch is on the handlebar. It’s all about the details and EEM knows how to do it at it’s best; take a closer look at the headlight bracket, what you will notice is there are two wrenches, another classic touch.

Other modification on this custom BMW Boxer R80RT includes an enduro handlebar, new brake pump & throttles. All the electricals have been moved underneath the seat. To give the bike an enduro style EEM has used a 2 into 1 artisan muffler. Whilst the vintage tone paint job has brought the true character to this build.

The big ass tourism bike has turned into an elegant bad ass scrambler, another interesting build from the guys at Emporio Elaborazioni Meccaniche!
