Roland Sands Design is back again with another bike for the Tony Hawk Foundation and the Stand Up for Skateparks charity. Here we have a really sweet Cafe Racer ‘Hawkized Triumph II‘.
This bike is due to be auctioned today (Saturday 5th November 2011) at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas. The first Hawkized Triumph raised $32500, which was a fantastic result. Here’s what Roland Sands Design says about their involvement with this charity “It doesn’t get much better than this! We get to build cool bikes that benefit a great cause. This café racer will go through life knowing it helped kids carve bowls, grind rails, ollie curbs, and ride the vert… what a satisfying life!”
This Cafe Racer is based on a stock Triumph Thruxton. The wheels were coated in vintage red by Olympic Powder Coating , then re-laced and trued by Dubya USA. The hand pinstriping was done by Roland Sands Design favorite sign writer Tom Clark and the awesome two-tone paint job was done by Chris Wood at Airtrix.
This Hawkized Triumph II rolls on Dunlop Q2 Qualifier tires, Progressive Suspension supplied the front fork spring kit and 970 series reservoir shocks. The one off low slung 2-into-2 titanium exhaust system was by FMF . Hawkized Triumph II also features a Renthal chainwheel , British Customs countershaft sprocket and a D.I.D chain.
Roland Sands Design donated the grips, pegs, gas cap, tag bracket, custom rear grab bar and the overall design and flavour of the bike. British Customs came through with the goods including the air box removal kit with K&N filters, adjustable Pazzo levers, Norman Hyde steering damper, Joker Machine carb caps and clutch cable bracket.
Our favorite is the exhaust and the tail section, the stock seat was reshaped creating the Cafe style and then wrapped in leather by Mauricio Aguilar of Azteca Customs.
