Commissioned by the Jackson Rancheria Indian Casino and also a competitor at the 2011 AMD World Championships of Custom Bike Building Freestyle Class is this beautiful custom Honda VT750ST from AFT Customs, ‘Asumati’ a Miwuk word meaning Grizzly Bear.
AFT Customs Jackson California, doubles as a metric customizing specialist and modelling agency. Not knowing much about AFT Customs until researching this bike it is interesting to read that all of the AFT Custom girls not only model but also work on the bikes in their spare time, 70% of this build was completed by the AFT Custom girls.
Designed by Jim Giuffra at AFT Customs ‘Asumati’ is based on a Honda VT750ST. The naked engine design features a narrowed top end 2″ with a top end performance kit, boosting 20% more HP out of this Grizzly Bear. AFT Customs have also used a Motogadget Speedo and the tail lights were custom-made by TPJ customs.
This custom Honda VT750ST is a convertible, great for urban streets or rural roads; it can be ridden in the solo position or with a passenger by bolting on the tailpiece.
This custom Honda VT750ST also features a hidden Duane Ballard radiator under the seat. The front forks belong to an R1 and the rear shocks were custom built by Race Tech. The handlebars are 1 3/8-inch Easton mounted on custom made raisers by Kraus Motor Co and digital switches by Grip Ace. ‘Asumati’ rolls on Custom 19-inch front wheels and 18-inch rear wrapped in Avon Cobra tires. The license plate can be rotated vertical or horizontal.
It’s impossible to miss the stunning engraving on the cylinder heads and engine cover, it really adds something special to the design of this custom Honda VT750ST. All components have been custom made for this bike; according to Aft Customs this bike is fully street legal too!
