Time after time we have been stunned by the craftsmanship of Roberto Rossi, his custom motorcycles are guaranteed to spark a sensation on the custom scene. His latest creation is a custom HD Cross Bones aka Giancarlo – Redhot Bones.
When it comes to the end result you are never disappointed with European custom motorcycle builders, and especially if it comes from master craftsman Roberto Rossi. His workshop is based in the Lombardy town of Roncoferraro Mantua a two-hour ride east of Milan, Italy.
At Moto Rivista we are constantly stalking Roberto’s work waiting to see what the next custom creation will be, it’s an absolute pleasure to be able to feature his work (Thank you again Roberto!). We have been patiently waiting to feature this build like an excited kid at Christmas, so without further ado, lets get down to the nitty gritty with the build details of this custom HD Cross Bones.
The base for the build was a stock 2009 HD Cross Bones. At the rear the original wheel rim has been replaced with a 16-inch and both wheels are wrapped in beautiful ANS Firestone tires. The stock fender has been replaced with a hand fabricated ’70s Laverda Formula 500’ style fender whilst the front of this custom HD Cross Bones features a drag bar.
The seat cover is made of leather tanned in the ’70s by Connolly Luxury Leathergoods Limited. The same leather was also part of the Rolls Royce Phantom 1 1930. The detail of the seat cover on this bike is astonishing and has been applied by fastener snaps.
The stock HD Cross Bones fuel tank was replaced with a Forty-Eight tank and features 1972 racing H-D XRTT decal. I personally adore every bit of this bike, but my favorite has to be the hand crafted mufflers with fish tales terminal. The Softail custom risers are modified using a special plate steering wheel, which is fixed.
The finished HD Cross Bones is a tasteful transformation in Rossi style, all the details on this custom bike balance perfectly!
