Although we followed the work of Shiro Nakajima whilst he was at Ritmo Sereno, we first featured one of his builds back in May 2014. It was the first build from his new workshop 46Works, a Moto Guzzi Ambassador 750 Custom.
As a chosen builder in the BMW Motorrad R nineT Custom Project from 46Works, here is the interview with Shiro Nakajima (Subtitle text)
I got my first BMW bike when I was a student and ever since I’ve been obsessed with the magic of BMW bikes.
I’ve been drawing up the custom plan based on the impression I got from riding it on the circuit and touring the streets.
The other point is the riding position.
I put the position at the core of my idea, and then design the other parts of the bike around it.
Basically a position that makes the bike easy to ride and enjoyable for anyone.
Therefore if you can enjoy riding it on a circuit you can also enjoy it on the street.
At the base of my work is a bike that functions beautifully.
I want to create a design that has meaning to it.
