Moto Guzzi Le Mans 2 by kaffeemaschine

Since the Bronze Age Italian’s have been fiddling with metal. It took them awhile to fully understand the behaviors of metal and then with that experience to craft something remarkable like the Moto Guzzi Le Mans 2.

You might be wondering where I am going with this; to cut to the chase I would like to introduce you to this Moto Guzzi Le Mans 2 aka “kaffeemaschine 8” from Hamburg Germany based kaffeemaschine. I have talked about Italian skills now it’s time to shed some light on Axel’s work on this bike.

In my eyes perfection is like constant evolution, it moves from one great hand to another and it just keeps getting better and better. Axel’s crafts are the custom evolution of the classic Italian Moto Guzzi motorcycle; each owner of a kaffeemaschine motorcycle is the witness to a killer craftsmanship.

The feature of the day a Moto Guzzi Le Mans 2 aka kaffeemaschine 8 was built for Swiss owner Guillaume Bureau. Axel’s brief for this transformation was to create a pure Café Racer with a moderate riding position and some space for a pillion rider. “I guess he likes sharing the corners of the swiss alps with his girl” says Axel.

The base for the build was a Moto Guzzi Le Mans 2, which got a total alteration of the engine/transmission/cardan drive. Axel’s favorite tuner HTMoto has done some tuning to increase the performance of this custom Moto Guzzi Le Mans 2 and dynamically balanced the crank assembly. Other work includes an electronic ignition and a handmade stainless steel exhaust system.

It’s not just the custom metal work on this bike we are talking about, Axel likes pushing the boundaries when its come to the building of a custom Moto Guzzi. Behind all that handcrafted metalwork there is accelerated modern technology.

The aluminium rims are Morad and the shocks are from Ikon. At the front the fork features FAC dampers and Motogadget instrument connected to a custom-built wire loom. The brake system was improved with modern cylinders, stainless hoses and a new rear caliper on a brake for torque support. The aluminium parts on this Moto Guzzi Le Mans 2 are handmade and sanded semi-matt, as usual.

Axel brushed the tank and fenders this time though, to match the rough wrinkle paint on the valve and generator covers and classic black on the frame, lights and tank. The handcrafted seat was upholstered with genuine leather, as well as the handlebars.

According to Axel “Some selected “kaffeemaschine” parts will now be available individually- check out my website or contact me for details.”
