The biggest custom bike show in Italy is the Motor Bike Expo held in Verona, which sees the unveiling of a series of amazing custom motorcycles.
We have a great list of custom bikes from the Motor Bike Expo still to be featured on Moto Rivista. Today we are taking a look at one stunner from the show Moto Guzzi Griso 8v Ipothesys built in conjunction with Filippo Barbacane from Officine Rossopuro.
There is always a story behind a great custom build and Moto Guzzi Griso 8v Ipothesys started with a spark of an idea by entrepreneur Alessandro Loviselli. That idea was sketched on paper expressing the wild imagination of human desire. Every thing on paper seemed nice and easy but translating that first draft into reality is pretty daunting. From what I believe there is always a time and a place for things to happen. Alessandro Loviselli had this idea to build a one of kind custom Moto Guzzi Griso 8v and Filippo Barbacane was the man to deliver it.
The build of Moto Guzzi Griso 8v Ipothesys started with a stock Moto Guzzi Griso 8v which is a milestone in Moto Guzzi V-Twin air-cooled engine design. First attention of the build was on the shares of the driving position, the suspension, brakes, and the study of easing the bike. The next most crucial phase was the dissembling of the stock bike and removing the tail section completely.
To bring the first draft of the sketch in motion the stock frame was heavily modified. Griso 8v Ipothesys is not just all about the innovation of a new style it’s also about delivering style with power and performance. And when you have the talented custom Moto Guzzi expert Filippo Barbacane helping you to build your bike what more you could ask for?!
For better handling Griso 8v Ipothesys has been blessed with a Brembo radical brake system, I guess with the 1200cc powerful engine you will need that performance braking! The front fork was replaced with the Marzocchi 50mm upside down unit and the rear houses Bitubo monoshock. Griso 8v Ipothesys also features a beautifully crafted custom 2-into-2 exhaust.
The gas tank is made out of aluminum and has been fitted beneath the custom tank fairing. Griso 8v Ipothesys rolls on OZ racing wheels from the Cattiva series. The finished Griso 8v Ipothesys is a bike with it’s own style and has all that all great elements a rider would expect from a custom Moto Guzzi.
Ipothesys was presented at the 2012 Motor Bike Expo and walked away with first prize!
