BMW R100RS by C59R Cafe Racer Motorcycles

Today’s feature bike BMW R100RS comes all the way from Cambrils, near Barcelona and built by Josep-Ramon Curto of C59R Cafe Racer Motorcycles.

Josep-Ramon Curto transforms classic motorcycles and give them a new lease of life with a Cafe Racer or Street Tracker style. According to Josep-Ramon Curto “With over 15 years experience in the restoration of classic motorcycles, we at C59R have consistently maintained the highest quality workmanship and attention to detail throughout. We apply exactly the same quality criteria to every aspect of the transformations: on the aesthetic side, paying the maximum attention to every style detail, and with respect to the mechanical side, guaranteeing the perfect operation of all our motorcycles.

Based on a BMW R100RS, we are proud to present today the C59R.1 – The First One, the first creation of C59R Cafe Racer Motorcycles.

The first thing that strikes you about this Cafe Racer is the front-end, with its top quality chrome details and Clubman handlebars featuring minimalist controls. Particularly striking is the use of a suspension blocker from the world of MTB as a Starter, the Acewell marker, and a new lens that manages to successfully compact the whole front assembly. This contrasts strongly with the anthracite grey /’ verkehrsrot’ red tank, giving the project a notable Cafe Racer personality.

custom BMW R100RSAll the key elements of the engine, transmission and differential have been renovated and the external finish fully harmonizes with the rest of the project. The electrical system has been completely renovated and also modified: the electrical junction box, originally located in the front-end, has been removed and relocated under the seat. The battery has also been moved to the bottom of the engine thus lightening the center section.

With respect to the chassis, we have provided the front fork with a new set of progressive springs and a lateral NHK steering damper to eliminate chattering, and the rear cushioning has been entrusted to new Ikon shocks.

Last but not least, the rear-end assembly features a striking own-design seat, a specially manufactured fender and a Lucas tail light. Together with a craftsman-built exhaust signed by XMR Metalworks, which gives the C59R.1 its unique sound.”

The finished BMW R100RS Cafe Racer has a classic look and feel, great color choices and excellent leather work. If the first build is as good as this BMW R100RS Cafe then we can’t wait to see what C59R Cafe Racer Motorcycles has to offer for their customers next!
