Old motorcycles are like gold they age through time, yet are fascinating enough to inspire a creation like this BMW R65 custom scrambler. Built by our Italian friend Frank from Moto Sumisura in Pavia, Italy.
It’s quite obvious to say that Frank has a thing for BMW Motorcycles, this BMW R65 custom scrambler is Frank’s third BMW build featured on Moto Rivista. Crafting motorcycles is something Frank has loved since he was six years old.
The rear of the stock BMW R65 has been heavily modified to adept the new saddle. The antique green leather based saddle was upholstered by Frank and has been mounted on a thoroughly revised subframe. The front axle and front and rear wheels were replaced with a BMW R 25/5.
The stock fuel tank was replaced with a BMW R 75/5 tank, which has been varnished and transparent painted. The frame is coated in a nice Teflon coating and the aftermarket exhausts are wrapped in thermal tape. Other modifications include a hand fabricated front fender a new Bates headlight and taillight.
The transformation from light touring motorcycle to the BMW R65 custom scrambler is just astonishing, with this build Frank has earned a happy custom and a beautiful machine for his portfolio!
What a beast, I really like the looks of this bike, altho the white grips look out of place. Great location for the shoot!
