Yamaha SR500 ‘The Venice’ by Deus Ex Machina USA

Deus Ex Machina is well known around the world for their custom motorcycles and the culture they promote and celebrate.

Originating in Sydney, Australia Deus has taken their custom culture all the way to Indonesia and now into USA. Their style has inspired many custom projects around the world and they are well respected by the custom motorcycle community. The Deus workshop in Venice California is a new operation, what you see here is the first custom Yamaha SR500 to roll out of their workshop. The Venice Yamaha SR500 is a fantastic fusion of old school Café Racer with modern day performance.

Lets take a little flash back, the Yamaha SR500 is a popular thumper with the first production in 1978. The Yamaha SR500 was well received on conception, mostly due to its contemporary styling and reliable Yamaha single-cylinder 500 cc powerplant. The chassis and engine has served as a popular basis for many Café Racers, Street Trackers and even Bobbers.

Bound for the bright lights and big city of NY this Yamaha SR500 features a hand crafted alloy tank. Deus has decorated this beauty with lots of Tommaselli trinkets; A & A rear brake and triple tree. At the front the bike features a Motogadget lamp unit giving The Venice a nice retro Café Racer touch. The Venice SR500 rolls on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels wrapped in stylish firestone tires.

All the parts on The Venice balance perfectly and Deus have proven again that less is more. This machine is a fine example of simplicity and true craftsmanship, we look forward to the next bike from Deus Ex Machina USA!
